Hawai‘i FFA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Hawai‘i. The organization was formed, structured and developed by a statewide Planning Group. Funding for the meeting support, facilitation and travel was provided through a grant from the State Community-Based Economic Development (CBED) program of the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism (DBEDT).
The FFA motto is “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn and Living to Serve." And along those lines Hawaii FFA Foundations mission is to build positive collaborations in agriculture and education that supports an active and sustainable agricultural industry, for the leaders of tomorrow. Four strategic initiatives have been developed to move the organization and community towards realizing this mission. Organization services include the development of a statewide curriculum for agriculture education that aligned with Hawai‘i Department of Education content standards. The three-year strategic initiatives are:
· Increase awareness and support for agriculture education and the Future Farmers of America
· Strengthen agriculture education
· Build agribusiness collaborations for educational and workforce development
· Elevate the Future Farmers of America Program.
These four initiatives were identified through the consensus of a planning group as innovations that would move the organization and community towards realizing its preferred future.
A volunteer Board of Directors governs the Hawai‘i FFA Foundation. Board Officers are elected by the Board and are responsible for managing the organization.
